Welcome

To the Wood Homestead

My name is Angel. My husband, Dan, and I closed on our home in 2018. With the help of great friends, sledgehammers, and frozen pizzas, we had nearly the whole thing gutted two days later. We have been piecing it back together ever since.

In the beginning, our focus was on the home itself. Putting the pieces back together to function “good enough”. We had just gotten married and we were livin’ on love. Once we started adding to our family, we decided to make some changes that would improve the functionality of the home.

In 2020, I was home with my firstborn. I had a lot of time to think and dream about how to make this home truly ours. Instead of waiting for Dan to get home from work and beg him to start yet another project…I decided to start tackling them on my own. Little did I know, this would lead to way more than just a home that looked nice.

As a stay-at-home mom, my main priority is raising our children in a safe, loving, and clean home. I have less time to DIY now than I did two years ago when they both napped at the same time (man, I miss that!). Now, my focus is mainly on homemaking tasks. I am still trying to figure this part out ( I am FAR from perfect at it), but I find joy in sharing about the incredibly important but seemingly mundane tasks the homemaker is faced with daily.

How blessed I am to raise a family here in this warm and cozy home. How often I need to remember that the internet is not real life. It can be so easy to compare and be discontent with what we have. However, our earthly possessions do not hold value in comparison to what is to come.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about me. Send me a DM on social media or drop a comment here if we have something in common! I would love to hear from you!
